Liquefied petroleum (LP) gas work is regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Bureau of LP Gas Inspection. To perform gas work legally, a company must hold a state-issued LP gas license — and behind every license stands a qualifier who passed the state’s competency examinations.
Licensed work is designed, permitted, pressure-tested, and inspected to the standards Florida itself sets. Every serious step of a gas installation — tank siting distances, line sizing, regulator selection, leak testing — exists in code for a reason. Unlicensed “handyman gas work” skips the permits and inspections precisely because it can’t pass them.
Before hiring any gas company — including us — verify their licensing directly with the state through the FDACS business search. A legitimate contractor will encourage the check.
